What is in the Legal Ops toolbox of Sébastien Hache?
That's what we wanted to find out and that's why we asked 5 short questions for 5 short answers, from the tac to the tac, to form the toolbox of Sébastien Hache, Head of Legal Operations of Euroapi.
🧰 On the program:
To your notes! 🖊️
What tools do you use within the Legal Department of Euroapi?
"Simple, basic. No need to have complex tools when you have general needs."
What has been your most significant learning since becoming a Legal Ops?
"Resilience. You have to accept that you don't always get what you want, that the operational people don't always align with what you propose. So resilience, we get up every time."
What is your greatest achievement as a Legal Ops?
"I don't know if it's really a success but it's all the encounters I've had. I met some great people who taught me. I'm here today because of all the people I've met who have given me their expertise, both in hard and soft skills. I was very lucky. That's why meetings are important to me."
The burning question, lawyer or not lawyer to become legal ops?
I think you have to understand lawyers. Do you have to be a lawyer or not, I don't know. I think you need to have a legal background, a background in project management and a 360° view of finance, human resources, processes and tools. These are not compatible backgrounds at the outset, but you can work on them afterwards.
If you had to give one piece of advice to a lawyer or non-lawyer who wanted to become a Legal Ops, what would it be?
"I think you have to have a "financial" dimension, organizational, rationalization, lean: there is a toolbox to have with solid foundations. So hard and soft skills.
We're enablers, we're here to align the planet, you have to be a good communicator and communicating isn't just about talking, it's also about hearing and understanding. "
We focus on your needs to help you find the best solutions.
